Bangladesh Govt. formulating effective national adaptation plan to tackle climate change risks: Environment Minister
Md. Shahab Uddin, Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Bangladesh, said, “The government is formulating an effective national adaptation plan to address the risks of climate change.
The project develops based on the views of each concerned ministry, department, and the general public.”
He spoke as the chief guest at a National Adaptation Plan Pre-Verification Workshop organized by the MoEFCC, Bangladesh, at in Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka.
The environment minister said, “National Adaptation Plan will implement with cooperation. Bangladesh will be able to meet the risk of climate change by adopting and implementing medium- and long-term projects as planned.”
“The development of the project for climate adaptation would help the developed world increase its finances, technology, and capabilities. The Ministry of Environment will co-operate with all other ministries in this regard,” he added.
Mentioning steps to enhance further the capacity to deal with natural disasters, the Minister said, “Even though Bangladesh produces as little greenhouse gas as possible, it is doing its best under the direction of the Prime Minister, Sheik Hasina.”
