Indore, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, India, is on the way to a pair of hat-tricks. The city got awarded for the fifth time as the cleanest, pollution-free city in India.

The city now holds the ‘Transparent Survey Award 2021’. If this feather gets added to the crown of Indore next year, too, then this city will entitle to a pair of hat-tricks. The Central Government of India published the list of transparent cities and states. Chhattisgarh gets named the cleanest state in India.

For years, the Central Government of India has published a list of clean cities and states to emphasize transparency in preventing environmental pollution. Not only this, with the help of this Center, the top-ranked countries or states get rewarded.

Indore holds its ranked number one as the most pollution-free city for five consecutive years. Indore is also the first name on the list published this year. In second and third place are Narendra Modi’s cities (the prime minister of India) – Surat and Vijayawada. The performance of these two cities is excellent in terms of transparency.

The list released by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing also includes the names of transparent states and transparent cities along the Ganges. Varanasi topped the list. In the last few years, the environment of Varanasi or Benares State, which is one of the centers of religion in this country, got improved considerably.

In particular, the banks of the Ganges and its environs got cleaned by the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As a result, Varanasi gets expected to emerge as a clean city on the banks of the Ganges in 2021.

On the other hand, Chhattisgarh has won the first prize this year as the most transparent state. President Ramnath Kobind of India handed over the award to the recipients. Thanking everyone for the excellent work, his advice, let others work like Indore or Varanasi.

By the way, Kolkata is not on the list of transparent cities of the country. Excessive burning of fireworks during the Diwali season increased air pollution due to the violence of noise. It has not come under control yet.
