Who does not want to go to the natural environment? Many people want to get out of town life and walk around the nature sanctuary. Many people also like to be surrounded by greenery and walking in the open air. Surrounded by mountains and greenery, many people dream to get lost in nature. And if you want to make this dream a reality, you can visit Sylhet, the northeast area of Bangladesh. Sylhet, located on the banks of the Surma River, has several tourist centers, including various hills, tea gardens.
So why delay, let’s find out about the top five tourist center in Sylhet and its surroundings.
- Ratargul
Ratargul is a special biodiversity conservation area. Ratargul or Ratargul Swamp Forest is the only freshwater reservoir and wildlife sanctuary in Bangladesh. It is located in Goainghat, Sylhet. The evergreen forest is submerged under 20 to 30 feet of water during the monsoon, but the rest of the year the water level is 10 feet high.
- Jaflong
Many people want to experience the thrill of visiting neighboring country India without crossing the border. And Jaflong, Sylhet’s famous tourist destination, can provide that wonderful experience. A spectacular view of the rivers and mountains will be seen in Jaflong, located at the foot of Khasia and Jaintia Hills close to the border of Meghalaya in India.
- Bichanakandi
Many people like boat trips. And Bichanakandi can bring you another kind of contentment. Different levels of the Khasia Mountains have come together at this point. Fountains descending from the Khasia Mountains have created a lake here. Bichanakandi is located about 25 km far from Sylhet city.
- Lalakhal
Lalakhal is located just below the Cherrapunji in India. The river is originated from the Cherrapunji Hills flows through Bangladesh. And Shari Goyain River is flowing beside this Lalakhal of blue water. If you want to travel here, you must first go to Sharighat by bus from Sylhet. From there you can rent a boat and travel around this famous tourist spot surrounded by hills and green hills.
- Malnichara tea garden
The tea garden has given Sylhet a unique identity. Malnichara Tea Garden is one of the tea gardens of all of Sylhet. It is the largest and first established tea garden in Bangladesh as well as in the subcontinent. This tea garden was established by Lord Hudson in 1849 on 1500 acres of land.
There are also several tourist spots in Sylhet and around Sylhet.
