Environment scientists have warned that nature is being destroyed in the name of development

Environment scientists have warned that nature is being destroyed in the name of development

The world is warming, and as a result, long-known weather patterns are rapidly changing. In simple terms, that is called climate change.

This climate change is causing frequent natural disasters like floods, droughts, sea storms, landslides, and wildfires. According to scientists, we are pushing our planet into grave uncertainty. And for this, they are responsible for destroying the undisturbed nature in the name of development.

Scientists have made such a claim in a research report on climate. The report was published in a scientific journal called ‘Bioscience’.

Twelve scientists from the United States, the Netherlands, Britain, Brazil, Australia, Germany, and China published a research paper. It was titled ‘The 2023 State of the Climate Report: Entering Uncharted Territory’.

The report mentioned some special changes related to climate this year. Unprecedented heat waves globally and rising ocean temperatures or

Scientists have also noted a decrease in floating ice levels in the sea around the South Pole region.

This year, the world’s average temperature has been 1.5 degrees Celsius higher than before the Industrial Revolution for 38 days. The only reason for this extreme change in climate is humans and their destruction of nature.

Apart from the activities of humankind, however, these 12 scientists mentioned some complex issues in the study. Among these are the effects of volcanic steam below the water table, dust from Africa and El Niño.

William Ripple, a scientist at Oregon State University College of Forestry, states that life on Earth is currently critically threatened. They also fear food and water shortages shortly due to this additional temperature increase and heat waves.

To avoid this, experts recommend reducing the use of fossil fuels and increasing the use of renewable energy.
